After art fairs in Brussels, Amsterdam and Tbilisi, Veerle Symoens now has a solo exhibition closer to home. Welcome at YUST Antwerp, until December 5, 2023.

This exhibition is inspired by nature and dedicated to the art of 'surrender'.

We create our life by taking steps towards our dreams, but sometimes there are moments beyond our control. Moments that ask us to surrender.
Surrender is a state in which you have trust and faith that there is a Divine force taking care of everything in a perfectly orchestrated time and manner. It allows you to step into 'the wisdom of uncertainty'.

After art fairs in Brussels and Amsterdam, Belgian artist Veerle Symoens will participate this year in the Tbilisi Art Fair in Georgia, from 22 till 25 September 2022, with a solo exhibition stand.

At the world crossroads where East meets West, Tbilisi Art Fair (TAF) in Georgia, offers international art professionals and discerning art enthusiasts an exclusive, engaging and inclusive look at emerging art scenes from a wider Europe. Tbilisi Art Fair is also the perfect place to discover more about the country and it's art scene, before the Belgian-Georgian linked EUROPALIA project kicks off.
Before heading to the Tbilisi Art Fair, Veerle Symoens will create new art works in the Georgian mountains and near the Black Sea during an artist in residence.

Collage workshop at OverKop Ghent.

I hosted an intuitive collage workshop for OverKop Ghent as part of the "Boost your Resilience" week. Through short and playful assignments, the participants made contact with their inner world & feelings for colors and shapes. Minor blockages due to perfectionism, fear of failure and being too much in the head were stopped in a playful and creative way.

Reisreportage: een kopje koffie in Guatemala?

Samen met cameraman Lander Dauwe trok ik naar het groene hart van Guatemala. Daar maakte ik naast een geschreven stuk, ook een TV-reportage over Fairtrade koffie.

Ik sprak er o.a. met lokale koffieboeren, met vrouwen die er strijden voor gelijke rechten en met Juan, de bezieler van de lokale coöperatie. Ik ben super dankbaar dat ik ter plaatse kon zien welk verschil Fairtrade en Delhaize binnen het Latitude 28-gamma, mee mogelijk maken.

During this quarantine, I’m offering free collage video calls or chats! There you can ask me all about collage materials, compositions, styles and so on. 

During this quarantine I received different questions from people who started creating collages, vision boards or art journals. How nice! It makes me happy to see these creations and they inspired me to introduce these calls / personal workshop moments.
